I use CATS with JMRI -- I have two panels built .. one for CTC, and the other for APB-2 .. so when I just want to run trains myself, the signals just work without me interfering .. the JMRI automation stuff is just too hard for a large layout -- time wise to set up

I haven't really thought about automation of running trains, but I suppose it would theoretically be possible down the road. I don't think I'd want to do it with some of the mainline freights, but automating the commuter stuff into and out of Parkton wouldn't be the worst thing.

To this day, if I wanted a bespoke resto-mod it'd be that car with the heated/ventilated seats from my current ride, some modern infotainment, and an LS under the hood.

Or, a Ford V8 - with a puffer - under the hood, like Paul Newman had in his Volvo wagon.

It took a while but everything is generally back to normal.

There's one small thing I need them to take another look at, but I just haven't had the time lately. Works been busy.

Future operators rejoice. After waiting twice as long as it was supposed to take, the ball cooler has arrived.

Now to route the exhaust pipe up through the closet and out to the window.

One of the things I've always wanted was to be able to make the layout room colder than the rest of the house to add some additional "cold December day" ambiance. Hopefully this little guy will accomplish that mission.

Most other layout time has been eaten up by working on the floor. Five rows down, many more to go, but I feel like I've gotten over the hump on it now.
