Working somewhat backwards, here's the latest staging plan.
What I don't like: It's actually only four tracks (six with the shorties in the front).

Have you considered the possibility of two levels/decks for staging?

The switches also at the end of the helix and could have all sorts of issues unless they're still on the slope of the helix,

Do you have interest in making everything in that space as modules in case some future serious utility work needs to happen?

Of course! It'll be a fun engineering challenge, but definitely worth it.

Shoot. There's only one problem with a lower staging level: it's too low to wrap around the water heater. Hmm...

Lol, you mean the one we JUST had installed?

Or go tankless at the very least!

I had thought about this but kept coming up against reasons not to. It was weird but they were all compelling (and I forget what they are now).
