I think the Rock Island idea is the best guess yet!!!

You still wonder if it qualifies as a "doozy", though...

I notice the GS4 is in the Freedom Train scheme coming soon, which would make the entire Freedom Train a logical choice, would it not?

Iowa Interstate has a Rock Island Heritage GEVO, only one number though so I doubt they would do two numbers. I also doubt this would be their BIG announcement. That said, they could be referring too a new Passenger train, The Golden State Limited. Joint SP-RI operation.

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

The City of New Orleans was colorful, and a train even non-model railroaders might be interested in.

Frank

What? For the humongous throngs of Steve Goodman and Arlo Guthrie fans? Maybe they'll branch out into boat models too, and do the Edmund Fitzgerald?

But how would the train be a doosy but not the engine itself.  I would think you would have to announce it as set for it to qualify......

I hope its the North Coast Limited. Couldn't they use their existing smoothside cars? How about the F-3 and F-7's?  Wouldn't that be the cheapest route for Kato? Green paint is all they need .

Which Freedom Train are you suggesting, the '47 version or the '75 one?

If the latter, they need to start by producing a Reading T1, before they do anything else. You gotta start with the right loco, and 2101 saved the AFT's butt when the GS4 restoration fell behind.

And wouldn't MT be a better bet, since they're getting all freaky and doing the RBBX train? Hmmm, but Kato would have a reason to release the SD40-2s again and in BN paint, kinda, to represent the Dash-2s that pulled the train while 4449 again took a break to be pampered.

Of course, whoever makes it can also make the Canuk's Discovery Train too.
