It's "stealth fighter black". I asked if they could cover it in RAM. The sales guy said no.

Wonder if any of the LO folks I know at Nellis are still here...

But AWD hatch backs are so much fun, I've had one now for 10 years.

First, got a call during cocktail hour on Thursday that the car I've been waiting to test drive had finally arrived.
It's a 2018 Buick Regal GS. It's a hatchback with twice as much room, twice as many drive wheels and almost twice as much power as my Mazda. They had gotten in a red one, but they're getting me my preferred color this week.
Have you driven an Audi A5 Sportback?

The only thing Buick on that thing is the badge, everything else is Opel Insignia (now owned by Peugeot). They try to sell the same thing down here as well, Holden Commodore.

Kinda looks like a screen door closer . What a monster  of a car , wish they would make the earliest one from the 50's .

I haven't. I've thought about it. I've seen a number of them. They're dead sexy. But not worth the price premium for something that I drive maybe twice a week. I also have street parking at the house and would always be worried about it. Oh, also... it'd forever bother me that I got the A5 but there was an S5. In this case, I'm getting the best version of the thing. I know it sounds dumb, but sometimes the shoe fits.

Sh!t got real today...

These are some of my favorite model railroading photos: they show the promise of lots of fun ahead.

Yep! I'm sad this is the last Opel Buick. They've been doing good stuff for the brand (like this).

I'm sad this will be the last one. But at least they're going out with a bang!

Also sad to see GM dumped Opel.  My 2014 Chevy Sonic has an Opel 1.8 liter engine.  It is really quick for a sub compact.

Attended the PRRT&HS annual meeting in Altoona. Lots of great models in the model room - it looked like an RPM meet. Here are the models I brought:

I have a bunch of early IM PFE and SFRD reefers that came assembled but weigh only a little over 5oz. or about 16 grams, too light to run in train on my mountainous railroad. I've yet to figure out a way to get inside them to add weight as they are glued together tight. Lemosteam was nice enough to sell me some useful coated lead balls that can be glued under the floor, see below, and they bring the weight to about 20g or .7oz. This is much better, but still not optimal...
Anyone here managed to get inside these without damaging them?
Otto K.

I drill a hole through the underframe, shove in the balls and some glue, plug the hole, and give the car an upright shake to distribute evenly before the glue dries.

If the hole is plugged will the glue ever dry ? Would a straw that just fits the hole , stopping a leak , but allowing air to be blowed in at times allow the glue to dry faster ? What glue , white ?

There are glues and resins which harden by a chemical reaction (not by solvent evaporation). Any of the 2-part adhesives or resins will work. Epoxy or urethane.  As long as the car is "water-tight" there won't be any issues.  Even the common CA glue hardens by chemical reaction, but I would be leery using it for this purpose.

Making progress on my E-7B

Next" Add window glazing, paint the stirrups then a clear coat and a little light weathering.

Thanks,
Wolf

What model is this?  I've been looking around for an E7 set for a GN train I'm working on.  Apparently they're scarce.
