I'm making an NP trailer car out of a Bachmann doodlebug.  I cut off the cab, swapped the ends, and spliced a couple of roof pieces together.  Next is to shorten the chassis.

In the real world there are Delayed Coke units in many oil refineries, some do not coke their resid. Here is an image, do not know who to credit, of a medium size 4 drum units.

I am building a small 2 drum unit for the Ewing Oil refinery on the club layout . . . . . .

A great deal of detail to add, paint, lights and I will make a auger style conveyor to move the wet coke from the drums to a pit that will have a front end loader loading the open top hoppers.

Thanks for looking and always have fun.

Finished and got to run my first sound install on an Atlas RS-11 tonight.  Machining, custom speaker enclosure, and download with the Lokprogrammer.  There is more detail in this thread. https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=44477.15

And the phone video. ;)

I am moving more into the 3D printed stuff.
My first try at Locomotives is a GE C40-8M.

You have to supply your own handrails.  So, the front rails off of an Atlas B23-7, Sill with the A/C (anti-climber) was used for both ends.  I still have to see what will fit for the "Body-attached" handrails..

I also have an C39-8 shell on the way in the mail.  That will be an easier build, since in that, I will be using the Sill and Walkways from an Atlas C40-8.
I also am keeping tabs, on the C32-8 thread.  Have always wanted to have one of those...

Doing a little (very little since I have a 7 week old in my arms most of the time) work on my Pullmans.  This is a DL&W 10-2-1 "Scenic" series Pullman sleeper.  The sides are KV Models sides on a microtrains sleeper core and the frame, trucks and mechanical equipment are by Keystone Details.  I am not sure if I am going to paint this one in the classic Pullman green or the classy DL&W Grey, Maroon and Yellow.

Are the Tower series sides availabsle?  All I see in the KV site are the Poplar sets.

Keep us posted; will be interested to see how it turns out.  Looks like a Shapeways shell as opposed to the Briggs resin kit?

By the way, correct manufacturer's model designation is Dash 8-40CM (quite different from the U.S. version).

Not likely - electrical cabinet behind cab indicates a CN unit (BCOL units didn't have that feature).

Sh!t got real today...

First things first, though...  Gotta mount the wall brackets.  These guys can hold 500 lb apiece...mounted into the studs with 2 1/2" #14 machine sheet metal screws.

Looking toward the Ophir townsite...
