The first picture was taken on a Treble-O-Lectric layout I have on a piece of particle board I've had for years and I have both Treble-O-Lectric stuff on it and equipment representing almost all N scale eras. Note the Minitrix FM switcher, Atlas A1G MKT stock car, IM Hormel reefers, Kato F7s, and C&NW Dash 9 in the background.

The funny thing is, We have had a discussion on here, fairly recently, about compatibility and how it affects reliable running. My latest equipment, which includes the F7s, glide absolutely smoothly through those old Treble-O switches made for relatively crude wheel sets!

The second picture was taken on my recently acquired Montgomery Ward (made by Life-Like) Treble-O-Lectric expanded styrene bead layout exactly like the one I got for Christmas in 1963. I had that for about 8 years and donated it to a guy in town whose son wanted to get started in model railroading. I ended up regretting that (not donating it to him but that I didn't have it anymore) and tried to find one for years. This one was on eBay along with many, many, other Treble-O-Lectric items so I threw caution to the wind and bought all of it.

Right now, it's all Treble-O but all my N scale stuff will run on it too.

Seeing the Lone Star takes me back, I still have all of those buildings in the photos from my Lone Star days, also a vacuumformed  (spell check word) layout that Lone Star Sold which I mounted  (attached to a large sheet of plywood. I still have a dummy Union Pacific F-7 which the in depth Model Railroader article referred to as a "Modified F-7" because there was no rear roof overhang. I also have the F-7 pained in the British Rail Green and Red that was sold as a dummy when Lone Star dropped their electric models and went back to push toys which they were in the beginning. I donated my UP 0-8-0 to a Lone Star Display that Belmont Shores was setting up, had a friend in California who was a member. Sold off all my other locomotives and cars. Ah the old EL number on the Mobile Gas tank car brings back memories. Nate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake, Utah. Who still has some old Arnold Rapido including set with the hook couplers and some of the black strap metal track.

All of the layouts from Lone Star or Wards are very collectible and valued at $200 - $250 in Donald Troost's Lone Star reference book.

Nate, do you know of any pictures of the Belmont Shores Treble-O-Lectric display? I would love to see it.

No, I have never seen pictures of the display, Charlie V might know a source if he is viewing this thread.                            Nate Goodman (Nato).

Yep! A few of my friends were involved in that effort. It might not be the last one either...

I was working on a PC car yesterday... just started playing with PanPastels. So far I'm happy with their ease of use, allowing me to sit here and weather cars while between things at work.

Finger paints and Ed in the same context just seems wrong somehow.  :scared:

What!  Ed's wearing finger paint?
Sort of like Mystique from X-Men, only in Conrail Blue?

Hi Folks,

Similar to Doug Nelson I picked a date before the merger. However, I picked a date on 12 Jan 1962 to ensure that I got nowhere new that puke green.

Regards

Al

"Jade" sounds much nicer than "puke green".   :)
