Were E units ever used on the Olympian in this paint scheme?  I know they were used earlier (as were Erie-builts).

Why would they?  The only true FP9As were built for Canada, the only US units were four rebuilt from parts of EMD FTs for the Chicago & Northwestern.

I can't help wonder if they will be doing the Creek-series observation car and Super Dome in Canadian National as well... the dome could be useful in a couple of different schemes...

Now if Rapido does the FP9A...

I have an IM Algoma Central unit on pre-order.  I might get it from Kato sooner if they produce one

I thought this has been through the forum mill before and the FP7s weren't used on the NCL.

Anyone have a shot of a 66XX F unit on the NCL?  Would be a good reason to make an F9.

You are correct.  Forgive my exuberance.
The FP7's on the NP were generally used between St Paul and Duluth and St Paul and International Falls, MN.

Well, my wallet is safe, but I'm happy for you guys, I'm sure Kato will do a bang up job.
My choice of power would have been different though but maybe that would be inaccurate with the big dome...I'm no Milwaukee expert, just know what I like...

The FP45s were built 6 years after the Olympian Hiawatha was discontinued.

Curses, foiled again.  I hate not having access to my library so I don't have to ask embarrassing questions.  Now what to do with the two Athearn Armor yellow FP45s I have - sell or rewrite history?  Wait, was it running Es or Fs into Seattle in '61? [Found my own answer, E9s]

More likely a combination of an E9 and FP7 (with maybe an F7b).

Hopefully Kato hasn't made a mistake not doing the Erie builts.  I'll be interested in what they offer in motive power and how that stacks up prototype-wise.

I'd still like to see some more E variety out of them too, a 6 and 7.  And yes, they might as well flesh out the F roster with a F9.  I do wish Kato's line were better detailed though, with free standing grabs and etched/see through parts such as screens, filters and fans.
