Now's the time for the MILW enthusiasts to post the roster consist for this train. Don't know what the set will include but nice to know what the real train looked like.

Super Dome very likely

The set will have not Rapids series parlor Skytops, but the Creek series cars- which had bedrooms and a buffet/bar, then the lounge.

They could easily make a Morning or Afternoon Hi as an extension of this set.

The Wisconsin Valley as done by FO261 is a former Army Hospital/Dorm car turned into a lounge car by Amtrak.  It's not original MILW and is now off their roster  (owned by the same guy who bought the Bella Vista from Mr.Kirkwood), so unlikely to be made here.  Although an Amtrak/Army hospital, dorm, lounge or baggage would fill a small gap, not sure who would make it.

There were a LOT of unique cars (all those round windows).

I hope Kato makes a train that is as 100% correct as possible.
We would assume they will mold the dome and the skytop cars.

But I hope they don't do just those two and then repaint the rest of their own cars as foobies.

I am absolutely ecstatic about this announcement. I can't wait for 2017. The people I spoke to at the booth said the FP7A would be run in other schemes too.

Can anyone tell me the difference between an F7A that you might find on the Super Chief with an FP7A as found on the Olympian Hiawatha? Edit: never mind I just looked this up. Extra four feet for added water capacity.

Who else used FP7As on their names trains?

the FP7 is longer due to additional water storage for the steam generator, and the WP used them on the Zypher.

Oh boy, more FP7's! I like my Intermountain units , but Kato's will be top quality, and they will probably be more on the ball getting road names out. I'd like some more CPR block lettering.

I wonder if they'll be tempted to put a train behind those CPR FP7's...

Whats the difference between the two? And really that's too bad, was hoping for a Rapids series for use in double duty.

Jagged Ben:  Other than the Super Domes, which ran for a while on the North Coast Hiawatha, how many MILW cars went to Amtrak?  I don't remember ever seeing one on the Empire Builder in the early years.

The "Valley" parlor cars were not assigned to the Olympian Hiawatha neither  were the "Rapids" Skytops.

6 super domes were assigned to the Olympian Hiawatha.

The Olympian Hiawatha cars were equipped with steam ejection heating and AC while the Twin Cities fleet was equipped with Waukesha ice engines.
