Ordered #2016 a few days before thanksgiving. I dimly remember the thread. While I did not know Mike, the cause is entirely worthwhile, and he was obviously well-liked and a good man from all accounts.

I just received my cars today, and they look great! When I find time, I will post some photos.

Mine are here. Showed the note inside to my wife and she was touched. Apparently the take for college is up to $15,000. Good on!

PS the cars are great, too! Any suggestions for a load the Puddy would have hauled?

I think mine will get a load of pulpwood, headed to the paper mills along the PVR.

Indeed, I am glad that they managed to raise so much!
Because why not...

^This.  And, I was getting worried, because other purchasers have been commenting on their receipt of the car for a week or two.  However, mine just showed up in the mailbox yesterday.  It's a neat little gondola!  Kudos to Rapido.  I guess I'm going to have to set the N scale layout back up, so I can put together a cut of gons.

Mine came yesterday.  Both of the drop ends were loose in the box but I snapped them back in place with ease.

The insert says that this project has raised over $15,000 for Sam's education.

Still waiting for mine.
$15,000 is nice but in USA, depending on the college, that won't even cover a one year's worth of tuition. Cost of education in US is so totally out of whack!

Not sure if Sam planned to come to the US for college, but that's a long way off...and I confess to know nothing about how higher education works in Canada.  Neither was it clear to me whether it was $15K US or $15K Canadian.

Either way, though, I'm glad I could help in some very small way.  None of this comes close, though, to making up for not having Mike around for the rest of his childhood.

That is outstanding. Wow.

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
