Here is some fun reading from previous release.

and the epic cattle car thread: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=39655
Can't believe that it was 4.5 years ago!

John,
You're not updating your old thread anymore?  :)
https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=36216.0

Ha!  I suppose I could resurrect that.  I kind of lost interested when BLI's output turned to mostly diesels that I didn't care about.  If they announce the PRR J1/C&O T1 and other mentioned steam  "Coming Real Soon Now™" it might be worth it.

Yes, that's too bad - there were some really "interesting" ones. A good reason to upload post photos to TRW.  You never know when some old info will be brought back from the past.

They won't  be getting any of my $$$ for another low quality stock car,   their last one was a POS.

At least they are releasing non-sound versions.

As much as I personally dislike these, I hope they sell enough to help them release more good stuff.  :D

Maybe we should start a Facebook raid to 'persuade' them to fix the tooling issues.. (i.e. make them stock cars..)

Then you could always edit your original posts, and replace the photos with locally uploaded ones. IMO, that thread should really be preserved for posterity (to show just how not-good those cars are).

Need to correct the thread title, maybe? BLI's page says April 2021.

At least they are releasing non-sound versions.

They did that in the original release. Four-packs for a similar MSRP as the single sound-equipped car. Here's the thread from six years ago: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=34491.0

I am surprised they sold out. Stock cars are such a risky model for anybody who pays attention to 1:1; possibly BLI's primary market doesn't care that much. Stock cars in their heyday were RR-specific and mostly weren't interchanged unless they were coordinated run-throughs. If there were foreign cars, they were usually leased for peaks and then still only run in a captive service. I think Santa Fe rented cars from CB&Q, for instance. Or was it the other way around? Something like that...

possibly BLI's primary market doesn't care that much.

This is the likely explanation (a segment of their market anyway)

You know when the COVID clears, there will be someone at every train show we go to who will have one...  :scared:

And it will be obnoxiously on full volume...

When I clicked the link to the BLI page at the start of the thread, I thought that by some strange mistake I had ended up on Spookshow's page for the Life-Like stock carthat came with my first N scale 'Little Joe' trainset in 1987.
