Hey, it's just The Railwire. Try not to take it so personal.
I was so tempted to downvote your post just for kicks.
Sharp eye, Chris, thanks! Then the question would be what's a Scullin doing in a C&NW shop? Didn't think they had any....Then again, I'm no expert on C&NW power, although I think it's one of the more underappreciated railroads, overshadowed by its more glamorous neighbors...Otto K.
I get this this reply and no comment on a scratch built freight station
To the person who just down voted me, you're a rancid sphincter.
Did some Railfanning the other night. />
And here's a picture of a train!
About this time, my wife yelled at me to put pants on and how we had to plan meals for the week so we could have a shopping list together before we went to Whole Foods.
I started off my morning like any other, getting woken up at 4:43am by the "phantom" bedroom ceiling fan light that turns on and off for no apparent reason of cause.I got out of the bed and turned off the light. I figured while I was up, I should take a quick pee, even though my normal morning pee is around 5:30. Thankfully, I was still able to go despite being early. I went back to sleep and woke up around 7:30. I went downstairs for my morning espresso. I have a Nespresso machine and find the consistency and convenience appealing. After two shots, the system was working back at peak efficiency and it was time to clean out the pipes.Breakfast consisted of leftover General Tso chicken I had delivered via OrderUp the previous night. I used a $7 off coupon. I washed that down with more espresso and Diet Coke.About this time, my wife yelled at me to put pants on and how we had to plan meals for the week so we could have a shopping list together before we went to Whole Foods. I put on some shorts, because pants are the devil, and we talked about dinners for the week. She will be working late so we came up with meals that require little to no prep. We are planning on making our own Big Macs, some pasta with Rao's Tomato Basil sauce, a leftover night, and Italian Panini. With our shopping list in hand (we actually use the Wegmann's App, even though we shop at Whole Foods because it does a great job of place holding items). We loaded the boy in the car and set Waze to take us to the dollar store up the street. My wife had me run in for party table cloths. She said "get a dark color...like blue or something." I went in and saw bright red tablecloths. I rounded the corner and saw a bunch of hula themed ones. I kept looking. I found the graduation section. I grabbed two black tablecloths. I made my way over to checkout and that was when I saw it. A 96oz (3QT) clear plastic container with lid. Today happened to be "Bring Your Own Cup Day" at 7 Eleven.I picked this container up and went to wait in the queue. Approximately 45 minutes later, I paid for my stuff. The person in front of me spent $77 at a dollar store, mostly of mylar helium balloons. It was the opposite of fun watching the cashier scan x(y)=$77 where x= number of items and y=%sales tax. I got in the car and got yelled at for buying black tablecloths. I said "you said something dark...like blue." They did not have blue and black is a dark color. After I ate my Milky Way Caramel bar, I drove us all to the 7 Eleven to get gas and a 96 fl oz Slurpee. My wife waited in the car because she was embarrassed. My 5 year old son and I went in, like effing bosses, threw a "dolla fitty" (+tax) at the cashier and strutted over to the Slurpee Aisle. We got most of the flavors. The taste was amazing. I finished my King Size Twix and drove to Whole Foods, quenching my thirst all the way down I95 with Slurpee.I got to Whole Foods, with a melting Slurpee. I said to myself, "Morty, don't be a chump. Don't leave this in the car to melt. Take it with you in to the Whole Foods."So I did. I sat my son in the child seat of the cart, and set the ye olde 96 (fl oz)'er next to him. We sampled a 3 year aged cheddar and cleansed our pallets with more Slurpee. My wife went to drill the aisles with the cart and I made my way to the deli where I ordered a pound each of mortadella and Genoa salami, some provolone cheese, and 12 slices of american cheese (for the make at home Big Macs mentioned above). My wife met up back with me at the deli counter and I was overcome with joy-joy feelings of being reunited with my Slurpee. I took a nice long sip and she got mad at me. "The people here are staring at you" and embarassed, she pushed the cart away to the bakery.Just as she left, one of the deli clerks came up to me and asked me what I was drinking. I told him about what day today was and he said to me "that's so cool! I'm actually a little jealous." I met back with my wife and she rolled her eyes when I told her. Next we went to the checkout. The cashier sees me and says "I see you've been to 7 Eleven today! I went yesterday!" My reaction when:And here's a picture of a train!
I've never used dedicated "weathering powders" before but I figured why not. These are the Doc O'Brien powders used on some Blackstone equipment. Like most pastel chalk the Dullcote removes a bunch...which is okay. Subtle is good.
