Not sure if it is true for all roads, but I want to give Atlas credit for assigning plausible numbers on their ATSF cars.  Baggage cars are numbered for heavyweight 60' mail storage cars (although the resemblance ends after the length- ATSF were rebuilt from old RPOs, have fishbelly sills, and wide door on one side), RPOs are numbered in heavyweight RPO series, combines are too short, but correct series, coaches in 3300 series (although those were longer and resembled 3000 chair cars), and the obs is numbered as a short business car (not sure of the precise length, but they were VERY short).

I read the link but it didn't really say why this is happening for this one product.  Did I miss something?

Exactly.  Why is one of the many Atlas lines of N scale products carried by BLW is now sold through another website (even if it is ran by Pete's brother)?

So that people like me could speculate on why, that's why.

 Probably a perfectly good business reason.  Given the shipping deal, maybe its got something to do with the two having different shipping policies.  From the shipping price, I am guessing that the brother is going to stick them in Priority small mailers- does BLW do that?  Or maybe Atlas is giving a deal to dealers who carry their O scale passenger cars to get them to carry their N scale passenger cars?  Or maybe it gets the brother's operation over a particular sales level in Atlas products that gives him a better discount?

Frankly, I don't care that much about the specific reason because I am guessing that it has to do with the 2 brothers working together to get us what we want at the lowest price- the price to the end user (me) is just about the same as the (apparently unauthorized) price list on the table at Springfield.

When ordering, I select "cheapest way" for shipping. BLW ships all my orders via Priority Mail. Both using the USPS-supplied boxes and their won (new and/or recycled brown) cardboard boxes.

Just went to place my order at HOGTRAINZ, and when I clicked place order, it just went to a blank page. I was not asked to enter credit card info, just select cc as pay option. I don't see any contact info for that dealer on the page Pete's link takes me to. I have no idea if order went through.
 Would be nice if Pete were to see this page and chime in.

BLW always sends an e-mail confirmation back that your order was placed. Did you get one? If you've got any questions best to e-mail them to Pete himself. He doesn't have time to cruise the forums.

That just doesn't sound right. I can't imagine any online merchant nowadays not showing the"order received" or "reservation received" page, or sending a confirmation email (or usually both).   But I have never ordered anything from Hogtrainz, so I don't  know how they do this.  Were you able to type in your name and address or it didn't work at all? On a totally unrelated note, I find that website's name unappealing.
