Unless I completely misunderstood the comments from Shipsure on various threads, MT is tooling a new 4 wheel truck for the NYC cars, but will supply 6 wheel trucks for other roads where appropriate (the NYC coach being a very close stand in for several other roads).  Hopefully, the trucks will be available separately, as I am sure there will be some demand for them.  They did release the PRR trucks (from the diner) as a separate item, but still waiting (AFAIK) for the Erie baggage car truck (242a?) to be released separately.

the Erie baggage car trucks (top-equalized) are available direct from the factory.  I called them and bought several pairs.  They aren't "packaged" - they came loose in an empty Micro-trains box.

Over on his brothers site, if you click over from BLW it will take you there.  And all items are flashing SOLD OUT .  My guess is they ordered X number of items and have pre-sold their orders.

That whole situation is just weird to me, would be nice to understand why.

IMPORTANT -- PLEASE READ:
BLW is not going out of business. I, Pete Postel, am the owner and founder of Brooklyn Locomotive Works. As I slowly transition into retirement, my brother, Paul Postel (who has worked along side for all of these years) will gradually take over the helm of BLW. I will be taking reservations on new items that are expected to be released by March '18 the latest. Those items will be processed / shipped by Brooklyn Locomotive Works. We have such an extensive inventory, that I expect to be here for at the very least another year or more. But to help trim things down, any newly announced items expected after March of '18 will be handled by my brother's company, Hogtrainz.com.

I'm sorry to see Peter and BLW fade away. BLW has been a big part of my model RR hobby for decades. Back when he was actually located in Brooklyn, NY.  Too bad that they don't seem to be interested in keeping the BLW name. To me Hogtrainz just doesn't seem to be a good or welcoming name for a model train dealer.  It actually seems repulsive to me.

On the name, I was assuming that since one brother deals substantially in N scale (blw), the other is "HO to G" and thought he was being clever in coming up with his dot com name.

And I suspect that they are doing things as they are in order to limit liability and similar business related reasons- as when "Caboose Hobbies" became "The Caboose" with new owners and location. 

Still, I agree with Peteski, the name is poorly chosen, and I have a vision of BLI (not to be confused with BLW) producing a custom no-slat stock car that oinks to celebrate the arrival of "hogtrainz" to N scale retail. The use of "z" instead of "s" also bugs me at a subconscious level- I don't know why.

I'm sorry to see BLW go away as well.  I've also been buying stuff from Pete since he was in Brooklyn.  He was my go to guy for many years.  Their old monthly newsletter was much packed with tons of great stuff.

Would people have preferred GOHONZ?  Or, GOSHONZ, if he carries S scale?  Seems to somehow suggest a short-term situation.

That is very sad news for me.  Outside of Athearn Pete got all of my pre order business. Not sure what I will do now.  I do order from wig-wag for Athearn and the occasional odd item so there is that.  I like MBKLIEN for instock items.  I wish they pre-ordered.

That always drives me nuts also, Seems really childish. Bothers me to the point where I usually will not do business with someone who replaces S with Z for the purpose of being unique, cool or edgy....

It never occurred to me that it was a play on HO and G Trains.    I'm surprised that with "trainz" spelled that way he was not selling Z scale models.  While now I see that the name is quite clever, I still don't  care for it.  Looks like I'm not the only one.

And yes, Pete's brother has been doing business as Hogtrainz for quite a few years now. I remember when Hogtrainz opened Pete put an announcement on the BLW website that if someone was looking for H0 versions of all the wonderful models he carried in N scale to go to how brother's new website catering to the larger scales.

When BLW website goes away, Pete's  brother should change his site from Hogtrainz to Hog'ntrainz.
