I originally was on the fence, but pulled the trigger on two CNW SW1s. I wonder how much I'd have to bribe Tom Mann to paint these in Rock Island colors. :tommann:

Thanks for the heads up Ed.  Finally getting a couple B&M SW1's, and my wife has less to shop for, for me, for Christmas.

Get 2 and then sell one  here on TRW (for $50).   Or fins someone who will go halves with you.  :)  This sale is too good to miss!

It's not the money. Guess if I wanted one I would probably have already paid full price when they came out. Just doesn't fit into the locate of my layout. I do personally like SW1's though.

Too bad no Pennsy! :(  I would have placed an order as soon as I heard of this sale.  Yes, this sale is too good to pass up.  :o  Maybe I'll get a couple of Burlington U-boats.  ;)  I remember seeing a photo of some Burlington units on PRR trackage.  I think it may have been run-through power.

Think of all the sexy shortlines that could use them though... I was tempted to get a blue B&M one and do up the Wilmington and Western's 114.

I wanted a PRR also.  But the PRR paint is the easiest to do on your own.  That's what will happen with the two PC units that I ordered.

Doooooooo it, @Ed Kapuscinski.  Oh, and do one up for me, too.  My daughter would love that, since she has a special place in her heart for W&W No. 114, too.

I'm going to go slightly off topic... But I was curious what would it take to modify the SW1 to have the four window cab like what's on Amtrak 737?
http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3165451

I just went half on a pair, and picked up Amtrak 740, so its only fair it gets repainted into Amtrak in my book...
Though am thinking I will pick up another pair soon....
