Yep, buy one, get one on in stock stuff, with free shipping.

I've stocked up on SW1s.

Not sure if I should thank you Ed, 2 NP U25C's heading my way. Hopefully without the reported problems mentioned here.

Ed, thank you for the posting. I just purchased two SW1. At $45 each that offer is hard to pass up.

Nat:  If you're referring to my problems with the first run of NP U25Cs, and their electrical issues, I wouldn't worry too much.  They turned out to be easily fixed, and were probably quality control problems rather than design flaws.  A little work with a soldering iron fixed them permanently, and they could probably have been fixed, without soldering, with a little more tinkering with the contacts.  I'm quite satisfied with mine, and if they ever release the U28Cs, have another NP reserved there.

The locomotives I ordered  are labeled and numbered as U28s.  As you know they shared the same body as the 25s with some minor differences.  Soooo I assume they didn't alter the shells but at least they have different numbers.

Thinking about this. Isn't this kind of a nasty thing to do to all their retail customers out there that are selling these? Right at Christmas too. Atlas cancelled one of their fire sales as their retail customers complained so.

One of those buyer beware things...sales happen all the time.

I'm sure they're probably offering their dealer customers some good deals right now too.

I know a number of places do that. In fact, I was able to score a GREAT deal on some Atlas GP40s when Walthers had them on sale, and my local shop could get an even BETTER deal from them. They passed the savings on, and I now have a pair of PC units.

I was drooling all over those SW1s at Klein's when I was up there Tuesday.  Hoping to pay a tuition bill soon...  maybe there will be a few crumbs left in the cookie jar when the dust settles....

I ordered a pair of the SW1s. I needed the trucks of one and the headlight and cab off another to make the one I want. This was perfect!
