Almost done with the first of two Milwaukee Road SW1's.  I need to buy some aluminum paint for the stack.  I installed a Digitrax DZ126IN decoder while the shell was off which literally took a minute.  I bought the only one the LHS had today so I won't reassemble the second unit until I get another decoder.  Runs very smoothly.

Nice work Roger. Now that you have repainted a SW-1 into Milwaukee colors, that should guaranty the next run will include Milwaukee and will save me the trouble of a paint job. Thanks !

No pics this week, but after a two day bench top cleaning spre I can now see my workbench!  And following some popular decluttering advice to "do the two minute jobs right away" I spent about an hour putting FVM metal wheels onto rolling stock.  SO now I'm out of 33" wheels . . . . :facepalm:  Though I do have 8 or 9 axles of 36's to work with.

And having been inspired by @randgust I also started painting my Stoney Smith Designs Shapweways trackmobile.

cranked out another Blair Line billboard for this stretch of highway...this item actually came  with the "Ernie's Service Station" although Dale offers it separately...

as I affix these and photograph them, I get challenged to complete the scene with details...road signs, guardrails, fence posts, bushes, and trees...and actual static grass, of course.

 



 

 

this is how the scene would look to a driver, crossing the tracks and heading for the highway T-junction...photos, such as these allow me to 'see' what needs to be done to bring more realism to the scene...
