Just saw the reserve announcement on my favorite e-tailer. WHAAAAA???? Did I miss a notice from Rapido? No matter! This is great! Now if MTL brings out the D78 next month AND says single-coach windows are on the way, I'll have a heart attack! (Right now I'm suffering wallet attack)

Yep; it's a "fore sure"... As Jason said in our newsletter after I applied the dreaded "Camel Clutch" (I always wanted to get a pair of boots like the Iron Shiek) he has to agree....LOL

Here's the link to the sales sheet....if you model the New Haven, BAR, LIRR oe B&M you'll like what you see...........

Yeah, you missed it.  Rapido formally announced the first release date and paint schemes of the PBLWs on Friday, but the model itself was announced at last year's Springfield show.

The MTL diner is delayed until the summer.

I have no idea the history or significance of those coaches but they look gorgeous.

Puddington, does this mean a very good chance someday to see the grill cars too?

These cars are on my to get list... now for some Stillwell cars and maybe some Boonton cars. These two cars would be perfect for the modern modeler as tourist railroad equipment.

I really can't say we've even discussed those. We're going to see how these go and then make decisions on future releases based on sales and response. There's the smokers, 11 window etc..... lot's of potential but right now we're focusing on the ten window coach.

The grill cars make little sense.  Only one road had them, only in one paint scheme, and they were converted quickly into coaches.  The grill cars also had full skirts, of which can't be done with the Rapido N scale model due to truck clearance issues.

Puddington, is Rapido planning a second release? Obviously Bryan will be buying the entire output of the first run. ;)

Hmm, at $60 per car, that's $1440!  If you're married, I wouldn't mention this to the wife.  ;)
Even if you can find them discounted  at let's say $45 a piece, that is still $1080.  I good chunk of change.
I'm sure that Rapido will appreciate your strong support.  :D

Yup all 11 B&M ones, plus a few NH ones. You should find them for less than $40 each.

You may have heard of them being called by their preferred "modelers" name... "American Flyer" cars.
