Ok, maybe this has been addressed and I missed it, but here goes. didn't the early and mid released from Kato use different mechanisms? If so, did the mechanism from the mid fit the early and will that mechanism be used for both this round, or will they actually use the mechanism originally used on the early model?
I think they will be using different mechanisms, which would be why they mention the shock absorber construction, ditch lights and a different decoder for the mid-pro model. The nice thing about this is that spare parts will finally be available for those of who need them for older SDs.Craig
The Trainboard guys seem a little more accepting and posting far less complaints than here, at least as of earlier this afternoon. We ought to follow their lead. It is good news, and if anyone expected an unprecedented release of all hundred (?) road names possible, they shouldn't have.Just out of curiosity, from memory, what is the largest batch of separate road names anyone can recall from the bigs at any one release?
That's cause they're too busy complaining about the SD70ACe right now.... I'm confident they'll get to the SD40-2 in due time... Brian
Yeah, but in fairness to them, I had never noticed that angled truck until the mentioned it......and now that annoys me, too! As to the 40-2, there is enough cross pollination/membership between the two boards that I have no doubt the tone will turn at some point.
Just got off the phone with my wholesaler, I will have 8 undec. sd40-2 mid production units coming In, March Delivery
Yeah, but in fairness to them, I had never noticed that angled truck until the mentioned it......and now that annoys me, too!
I'm a member over there and wasn't picking on them, just sayin... I've never been a fan of the sprung truck method and have now noticed the same "tilt" for lack of a better word. Not the easiest to dissassemble, paint, and put back together either.
Kind of like the FVM Heritage GEVOS, the cab is correct but the rest of the unit is wrong.
Not to hijack the SD40-2 celebration, but welcome to the club gents. I noticed the ACe tilt months ago but haven't had the gusto to look for a solution until the TB post appeared. Funny thing is, the mid-production SD40-2 has the same sprung design, but doesn't have the tilt issue. Still not as annoying as the ACe I have whose truck falls out of the frame with the slightest nudge. Signed,A self-declared Fan Boy
