Bachmann Alco S-4 and 2-6-0

I think the photos might be the issue.

I only have two complaints with the modern Bachmann diesels:
1. I've never liked their windows. I feel like they don't have nearly the detail of Atlas or Kato windows, and I feel like they're a touch too big.
2. I don't like how they render hood doors. I'm not sure if this is the case on the RS3s or GPs, but historically they'd just have a thick recessed line around the outline of the door. I've always thought that looked pretty poor. I think it's better on the new units though.

We covered the rs3 when it was announced.  It , and the gp7 aren't much more than modern incarnations of the u36b and f9.  The drives have certainly gotten better, but the shells are a thirty year step in the wrong direction.

Since it is unlikely that Atlas will do the S-2 in N now that B-Mann is doing the S-4, having shrewdly chosen to stake their bet on Baldwin's wildly successful VO-1000 rather than ALCO's lackluster S series, I think we can at least agree that this will be a step up from the Arnold S-2, right?

I'd be in for at least 1 of both the S-2 and S-4's as the N&W had both on their roster at one time or another.

Well Ed, I was thinking along the same lines.  Total surprise there.   The manufacturers do read our wish lists here and I wouldn't be surprised if an SW-1500 is on their short list.

Maybe, but I would hope that the SD40-2 in multiple versions would be on a shorter list.
