Plow detaches from the truck easily. It is the perfect size for a push plow mounted to a flatcar or gon, though too large for mounting on a steam engine pilot.

There was an article in N-Scale years ago that walked through the kit-bash.

I remember that article and used it to build a plow, must have been like 15 years ago or more! Haven't looked at it in years until this thread reminded me. Not my best work but not bad at the time.

Its a Hot Wheels Oshkosh Plow truck.

Ones with the original plow are harder to find and a bit more expensive then ones missing it.

Lots on ebay in the 10-30$ range. and likely any local swap meet will have them hiding somewhere.

As far as I can tell its not currently in their product line...

Brian:  Thank you!  The flat car itself was very simple, as I didn't try to add any underbody detail.  The plow wouldn't work for bucking Midwest drifts, but for my line it's mostly for clearing yards and such.  Supposedly built in the 1950s, with a second hand blade built in the late 1800s, it has a "steel" flatcar.  Mainline clearing is done with a pair of rotaries and locomotive pilot plows.

Thanks!  Are you "up" to using right angle brass for the cross braces?  FXD will be WAAY to chunky, but I will try to see how it looks if you want.

Yes, I can custom up right angles to bring it together.

Ok great. For stability I will put a brace in that you will have to cut away.  I am concerned that the upper curved portion might warp, so I have to brace it somehow during printing and processing.

Would this be large enough to build a dedicated plow (like a Russel)?

Speaking of plows, I would really like to see flanger blades to use on lifted Walthers Bay Window Cabooses:

These are actually almost identical to the stock Walthers caboose with a few modifications:
Bay window area filled in (I used styrene)
Bolster and platform area raised to clear plows underneath body (I used styrene for that too)

I would love to see the blades available because I have had major issues trying to bend and build them myself.

This would make a very good conversion kit as well: New under frame with bolster/platform extensions. Poseable  flange blades. Bay window plugs.
