Given the silence at this show and the low amount of announcements at the N scale convention, I think it’s safe to say there’s a bit of tariff fever going around. At least we got some interesting releases from ScaleTrains and Rapido.

I got an email from Bachmann saying they will have some mid-year announcements at the show and make them public (email and web, I assume) on Saturday. I remember (far too long ago now) that they announced the PRR K4 at the summer show and had them in the stores just 2 months later.  It would be nice to see something surprising like that again, but I guess the climate isn't right for that these days.

Those look a lot like the old IHC tooling.  Although, given modern Walthers pricing, where a bungalow is close to $40, 5 for $75 MSRP isn't bad.

The "prototypes" of those ex-IHC houses almost certainly would not have had garages on the ground floor when built.  What would have been there?

I know that IHC have a series of Brownstones, Gingerbread, and Storefront (?) structures, I don't believe they ever made Victorian houses. This is probably new tooling (or one IHC never actually utilized), but they sure look similar to the IHC structures.  The IHC tooling looked to be by made by Heljan.

IHC made them. Google around. There are some on eBay now. Might be IHC #200-4.

Many just like this in San Francisco, but IDK where else.

They may have been built with garages, juts not roll up door garages. More like hinged doors. But a lot of these houses were moved, which is when they got their garages, so saw the garage off and give it a new foundation.

Scrape off the garage level and the gingerbread, give it a more plain Jane paint job, and these houses would fit anywhere. Victorian architecture is everywhere, but most of the lumber-constructed versions I have seen are in places like Ohio through Texas. In my experience, as you move east masonry starts to take over in the cities. Baltimore has plenty of Victorian architecture, it's just all brick and gingerbread is a rare option.

Those houses on the cover are Gingerbread, not Victorian.  Those looks different and no lower level  with garages either.  While lsimilar, the Victorians require all new molds for the walls and stairs.  Also to me the models in that photo look like H0 scale.  The details are too fine for N scale.



I own some of the Gingerbread house kits.
