Who else has C6M's in any quantity? I'm sure they'll get to the CN and UP versions, but NS is the largest user of the C6M by a huge margin.

If you include the AC4400 rebuilds (which are basically the same as the Dash-9 rebuilds) then every major North American railroad has them.

Of the Dash-9 rebuilds, NS has almost 1000.  CN & UP have some as well.  And Ferromex had a recent delivery.  BNSF rebuilt 20 of theirs.

The AC4400 rebuilds look the same to me, except for customer-specific details.  The biggest customers are UP and CSX.  But CP purchased a bunch, and even NS bought some old CIT lease units and have been rebuilding these.  (3900-series.)

Lots of opportunity for this product, and one with a huge presence on the rails.


(Put me down for at least the two “sonic bonnets” - NS 4000 and 4001.  I have a personal connection with these!)

The SD70ACe should be (re)announced this fall they said at the breakfast this morning, its in the design phase.

Shane mentioned they were working up the FVM GP60 during the manufacturer breakfast for release some time next year as I recall.

The gift car was one of their new 7500 60’ boxcars, and they are sweet models. I’ll definitely be ordering some more.

I hope this opens up the possibility of a SD70ACeT4 too (as long as there's no major difference besides the taller roofline)!

When I really focused on modeling the WP 20 years ago, I liked the Perlman green units because that is what I saw in California.

I wish (and I apologize for this being one of "those" whiny posts) they had offered WP units in the orange and silver scheme. The greeen is easy to paint but the silevr and orange requires a bit more finess in N (kind of like Southern F unit snouts)...
