Announcements (ScaleTrains) at National N Scale Convention in Kansas City

I think Scale Trains is pretty careful about their item descriptions so I'm taking them pretty literally about the loco being good for 60's and the 80's- GP35's, GP40's, SD45's were all around way after the 80's.

Were any DD35's running anywhere after 79? Pretty sure the SP's units were cut up by around 1980 and the UP ones were stored never to run again by the same time?

That's why I think they will do DDA40X's or a U33/36C. Both locos were around in the 60's abut were gone from the rails by 1989. Also, if the Atlas SD45 is not up to ST's standard, the Bachmann DDA40X is even more distant.

based on their HO locos, the SD45 seems plausible, however, I'd want some early 90s rent-a-wrecks for myself

But there is also the SD7/9, but didn't those start in the 50s?

B units were gone by 77, and the last A was scrapped in ..... 1981.

Wonder if Shane will tell us if the new engine is new to N scale or only new to Scale Trains N scale line up?

My Guesses..
SD7/9 and GP60 series
Freight Car he didn't say 'all new' so it could be implied or more paint schemes of an existing model.

I'd love to see another run of PS4785 hoppers to catch up to the roads they have done in HO..

And they still need to do PC Patched to Conrail in both scales.. (they did the RFMX, but not true Conrail..)
There are probably more BN cars that can be done, along with BN Patched RFMX Cars.

Being good for the 60's-80's lends me to wonder if it isn't a GP35 since they introduced the GP30 not that long ago.
I'm not even going to try to guess which freight car from that era would be. Being labeled "all new" points to something other than a Exactrail or FVM model to me. But I've been wrong before.

for the 1990's all new sounds like EMD SD70/70I/70M etc to me or GE AC4400/AC6000.  For the freight car I wonder if they plan on the Conrail CoilSHIELD
cars. Exactrail did produce these in HO but not in N.
My Sportscenter Fantasy is and always will be the MGA Super 7's. Yeah, that'll happen won't it? Please tell me it will. I'm not getting any younger.

On a side note the Scaletrains Roadshow is stopping by one of the local clubs in July. Yet another chance to plead our case for Super 7's. A couple of us have discussed this with Shane in the past a few times. And if anything we try to be consistent.

Another vote for AC44C6M.

For as many as they’re are out there, it’s shocking that only one model manufacturer has brought this to market… and only (so far) in H0 scale.

(And yet, we have 4 manufacturers who have done Big Boy models.  Scratching my head over that one…)

I believe you're correct with the SD70 series (hopefully an SD75I as well). They already make the AC4400 in n scale, so won't be that.

SDP45 would go nicely with a general service Rapdio 3/4 dome.
I'd take a U33C also though.

Almoat everything 90s has been done.  If the did flared radiator UP SD70s that'd be something though.   Only one roadname though, I think.

How did I miss the AC4400 release??? Not that I need one or anything. I totally whiffed it though.

The only ac44c6m in ho scale is from scale trains. Athearn did a foodie. I’m not aware of any others.

I dunno, I'm no fan of steam but as far as Iconic locomotives go the Big Boy is pretty much at the top of the list. The AC44C6M looks a lot like an AC4400... just another toaster on wheels
