You walk by a field and start lining up weed, shrub and bush branches to see if they will work as armatures. Please keep it going.

You spend an hour in the craft paint aisle in Michaels or hobby lobby hoping to find just the right shade of green or brown

.007 board gaps, that you can only see at all when your bifocals are in perfect focus, are "wayyyy too big", "huge" or "ginormous".  And you spend an hour reading through an online thread where 123 people write 20+ pages of posts to express the same opinion about the board gaps.

I gave up rivet counting when I couldn't see an N scale rivet anymore.

You're traveling to a new state/area and begin a google search for MR stores near your visit.

...you decide to get a new smartphone because your three year old one's battery is dying in under half an hour...and you take your digital calipers with you so you can make sure the center of the new phone's primary lens is no further than .450" from its edge....

You have 10 or more cans of dirt on a shelf in the basement.

When your job involves going to construction sites, and every scrap of blue foam in the dumpster is singing your name in a breathy, seductive manner.
And every oddly shaped cut of plywood suggests a track plan, perhaps a small yard, or a river crossing, or maybe an Inglenook...

Or when you're working around the house, and a door needs adjusting or a window is stuck, and you decide that a jeweler's file or a Dremel is the best tool for the job.

When airport security pulls you aside and gives you a full body cavity search and is asking you endless questions because you have a coffee can full of dirt in your luggage that you picked up from the area you model to use on your layout. ABQ
