Anybody know what's happening with this kit?

Bumping this because the kit disappeared w/o a trace.

@OldEastRR , To be clear, this kit was offered twice as a limited run.

There are Shapeways versions available for purchase here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/3ESHEELJL/n-scale-1-160-prr-r50b-express-reefer-car?optionId=80919384&li=shops

I used Keystone Details HGM 2DP5 trucks for mine: http://www.keystonedetails.com/products/n-scale-details/2018/3/30/n-scale-2pk-roller-bearing-2dp5-truck-for-hgm-b60b-kit?rq=2dp5 (roller bearing, and friction bearing: http://www.keystonedetails.com/products/n-scale-details/2018/3/30/n-scale-2pk-roller-bearing-2dp5-truck-for-hgm-b60b-kit-w9y33?rq=2dp5

Decals: You are on your own.  Maybe folks have leftovers from their B60b or R50b kits.  I do not.

I have built one of Michael's models:

Reading this thread from the beginning it's very clear that in mid-2021 GHQ was asking how many people would be interested in the 3rd run of this car. Lots of people were interested, then any more info about it never came out. I'm not beating a dead horse here but wondering where the one in the barn went to. And I am surely interested in Lemosteams trucks for it, as I'm leery of all metal trucks for a DCC layout.
Obviously somewhere went wrong with the plans for new run. I'd just like to know the end of the story.

Pretty sure this was released and, as with the first release a decade ago, sold in a flash.

Actually it is a bit of a mystery. GHQ mentioned utilizing a Kickstarter campaign set up for this kit, but no further details were ever mentioned.

I guess someone would have to search the Interwebs (or maybe just the GHQ website) for mentions of that campaign. Maybe it never came to fruition?  Since none of the parties in this thread interested in that kit ever came back asking for the Kickstarter details, or came back stating that they received the kit, it seems that it maybe never came to be.

@71jeep @chicken45  @bobdobbs  @Altoona @jargonlet @wm3798 @PennTexas53 @CrazyLynx @squirrelhunter , have you guys ever participated in the Kickstarter, and got your kits?

I'm not sure either.  I know the model has been released twice.  I have both iterations.

I've been getting the GHQ email newsletters for quite a while, and never noticed a mention of kickstarter or a potential R50b there.  However, judging by the newsletter, GHQ's attention has been focused on their wargaming business.  Not much new in N scale, but lots of 1/285 (I think) tanks and halftracks and such.  Maybe we'll see the R50b later on?  Or maybe they heard a rumor about someone else doing one?  Maybe they just can't get the parts they need?

I forgot all about this. I would buy a couple more kits if they were available. I’m not doing much n scale these days and have three assembled from one of the earlier runs.

Nope.  Haven’t heard anything.
I do remember the first two runs, and talk about doing a run on Kickstarter or something.

That seems to confirm that the 3rd (?) Kickstarter-based run never happened. It just quietly faded away.

I am disappointed in GHQ.  I sent them a direct email, with a link to the kickstarter thread, and I have heard nothing from them and I am surprised at that with all of the sales enthusiasm.

Hello all,

GHQ might not be the cause for the delay. I have been hung up on losing the artwork for the decals with my laptop a couple of years ago. I did send them the files that I had recovered from my hard drive, but I am not sure if they are in useful a format for printing after 11 years.

Best regards,
Michael
