Out of curiosity Ed, how long do you think you'll keep the loop around until you start prepping for Hanover Jct and the transition to the lower level?  Thoroughly approve of your concession to JFRTM; you can't let that CR Blue collect dust when it should be collecting soot and grime!

I'm guessing probably a year or so. I think what I'll do, once I get this up and running, is to then start building from Parkton and meet in the middle with a Golden Spike.

It's far better to collect dirt on the wheels than dust on the walkways.

Rome was not built in a day, but temporary loops can be built in a couple of weeks!

But properly done, they can be serviceable for years, and let you scratch some scenery itches that you might not be able to do in your final plan!

You know, that's actually a thing I've been thinking about. This might get some ground cover and trees so I finally have a decent photo background.

If you were really clever you could make it adapt to FreeMoN standards and have it be its own thing once its outlived its usefulness as a return curve.

So that's what I thought too. Then I realized it was because the auto reverser was downstream of a PSX for wiring convenience.

I jumped it for now and everything is smooth as silk.

Yea - the PSX doesn't play well with an auto reversers .. the AR needs to be on a separate feed .. it took me a while to figure that out as well :)

Quick and dirty and a great example of a way to build out a larger layout while being able to JFRTM. Excellent!
