It's kind of funny that I'm probably not going to be able to resist getting one of these, as I'm still not a fan of the design/aesthetic of these locos at all. Way too European looking to me. However, those sample shots of the models are really impressive!

I Just pre-ordered this month, and my hobby shop told me that the Midwest version was shipping this month, but the surfliner was releasing a bit later. Is this true?

Saw all four of the Amtrak state service road names/numbers in person at the Bachmann display at the NTS in St. Louis over the weekend...they look pretty good to me. The working demo sample was running on a test track like a champ. The lighting was quite impressive...flashing top mounted strobes, side vent lights, flashing ditch lights etc... One of the reps said that they are having issues sourcing boards and speaker supplies but thought they would be available by the end of the year. Another rep said they are planning on doing the Venture cars as well in N. Kato was not at the show...I was hoping to see their ALC-42.

KATO posted a YouTube in early August showing pre-production models of the Siemens ACL-42 Charger. I like you can illuminate the engine compartment separately along with space in the fuel tank for a speaker if you want to install your own sound.

I got an email today from Trainworld that my Midwest Charger had shipped. Should be in my hands next week.
