June MTL releases announced

Not picky.  Just helping out to insure the bodystyle (which is prototypically accurate for NH, as is the RPO), is deco'd accurately.  The leather-seated variation was their idea, but one I support fully.  Originally, the plan was to have the smoker in with the runner-pack as a coach variant.  But the pandemic has forced production to be more streamlined, so all the like-produced coaches with navy interiors are now together in the runner pack.

Even so, there's still work to do.  Inner walls/floor/ceiling have to be painted, light boards added, couplers moved in, diaphragms upgraded.  The bathroom windows already are frosted so that's one less thing to do.

Powder blue china with no pattern for the diner btw.  Very easy to replicate. 

I think the "leather" interior for the smoker vs the blue for straight coaches is a great idea.  A simple thing, but distinguishes the car even just "out of the box".  Even if I end up painting my own for roads I want, glad to see the car is a success.

Question on the solar system car... are they using the Rapido lighting kit? Or did they make their own? Is this a test run before adding lighting kits for their passenger cars?

The lighting is unique. My son wants this set and we got the Sun car in this week at the shop. It has a large lithium battery, magnetic switch, LED and prism on a board that is loose inside the car. There is foam top and end to keep it from rattling. When I bring the car home tomorrow I will take some photos. Thew lighting is too dim to know it is on in bright light but in a dark room it really glows. They just have the image printed on a clear sheet over the door openings.

It’s going to be a while.

Fortunately, the green undec should be surfacing soon. So those and Microscale decals will produce a sizable fleet with little effort.

Regarding the weathered BN set:

The Burlington paint scheme is seldom offered. The last model from MT is from 1998.

And AFAIK there are NO accurate models of the reefers - insulated cars from Burlington offered in N-Scale. The green/yellow paint scheme is unique.

This could be a project for ESMC. They made a wonderful XML-14.     I bought both.
