More backlogged painting projects. Not 100% correct, but frankly Scarlett...

Largest acreage I've ever tried to cover with printed paper shingles, and suffice it to say they've been putting up a helluva fight. Thank god I'm also finished with 'em -

HI Folks:

My work this weekend has been of the plotting and planning variety, Hopefully this week I'll be able to get some wood and glue and start building.  Heres the updated plan:

As always, comments and critiques and suggestions are ALWAYS welcome, you can DM me or reply in this thread or my build thread https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=49626.0

During this past week I finished making sides for my six Vancouver Iron woodchip cars:

More in the build thread:  https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=49577.15

I have also been working for the last several weeks on the preparation of parts for a final batch of HSC and RMC woodchip cars from the CS Models kit.  After seemingly endless evenings of de-warping floors and sides, filing and sanding parts, removing grab irons and sill steps, drilling holes for new ones,  they are ready for assembly:

The plastic device at top is an assembly jig which allows me to work on two cars simultaneously.  I have parts for eleven cars from which I hope to get nine good ones.  They will join the three already in service.

During our Zoom Meeting this week, I actually did something instead of just sitting there listening to others, occasionally throwing in my 2 cents worth.  I downloaded a few more DigCom Designs trailers recently and went about building an Estes trailer.  It's been a while since I've cut one out and glued it up but now I think I can get back into swing of things.  Here it's seen already pressed into service getting loaded with paper goods at PH Gladfelter on my layout.  And just enough room for YorkRail to sneak by with a cut of cars headed for interchange with CSX.

I completed the installation this morning. First, I made a dome fixture by attaching the dome to the top of thin-wall brass tube. Then I assembled the car around it, complete with a patch of road so the whole thing will be removable.

Dave, here is my idea. This would also work as a light bar where a series of Tubes could be geared together and placed under a vacuum formed light bar case.

It would work well for something like this:

It could also work to light Vector style light bar pods that the NYPD uses.

And leave nothing behind

Updating the foreground scenery with late summer hay fields. They are such a defining landscape feature of this part of British Columbia so I had to model them.  Have spent a good portion of the weekend making N Scale hay bales using the Luke Towan video as the guide.

Only change i made (apart from scaling down to N scale) was using masking tape instead of clear sticky tape and mixing in some static grass with the Jute twine fibres to get a lighter colour.

Current rate of production is a mere 3 bales per hour but it is a strangely relaxing task.

Cool!  That is in my future plans for the space above the helix.

@160pennsy it didn’t.  I may try to order from someone else.  All these glass block suppliers (both of them) are individuals.
One guy is completely offline, and the other is backed up with work or something.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

I wonder if a vacuum former (Micro Mark has them) could be used. Maybe have someone 3D print a hi-res sheet of those wavy square shapes w/grout seams in N Scale (sized to fit the vacuum former plate). Then it can be used as a master to make as many as you/we need. The management might have to come up with other uses for the new tool to cover costs ;-)

Or, you can try the DIY method
