Well that's lame... End of an Era for sure...

But with Tamiya, Vallejo, Ammo by Mig, Tru-Color and other model/art brands of quality paint, there isn't much of a void to fill... Model master will be missed tho...

Floquil was the breakup, this is just finding an old picture  :D

Rust-oleum spent years buying model paint companies, consolidating them and killing them off, for what? Nothing? What the hell was the whole idea behind Testor's, Floquil, Polyscale, Pactra, and the others?

And man, does this letter seethe in anger. It is very clear the two parts of the company did not get along!

I only wish they would sell the formulas to Polyscale and Testor's Acryl lines. I need quality non-toxic water based paints in railroad colors. It would make an obvious addition to the Microscale product line.

Also on the Facebooks...  Lots of suggestions that this is fake or a hoax.

Trying to verify...

OK, having another look...

First off, this one image is the only indication of this major decision I can find.  Nothing on any of Testors web presences...static or social media.  Note how grainy this image is.  Font sizes are all over the map.

Also, let's examine the host of grammatical errors including random capitalizations, poor sentence structure, and the date having only the month.  It looks like it was written by someone with marginal literacy, not someone charged with making public releases.

Lastly, it says it will stop shipping "overseas" in November 2019.  So is it just overseas or everywhere?

I smell bullsh!t.

I smell bullsh!t.

I would tend to agree as there is no such entity as the Testor Corporation.

I just sent a support inquiry on the Testors website asking them if this is true.

I figure they'd probably know.

Wonder where it originated?

Now I see people saying this is only overseas   :?

One of my LHS's called Testors on this and apparently it is International Sales only that are affected.
The Testors lines remain available in the US, and for any Canadian sellers who source from US distributors.

Got the word from a large local hobby shop, US/Canada sales are unaffected aside from a few colours being discontinued.

Ok, because if I couldn't get Blue Angel Blue and their light gray Model Master primer, I was going to be upset....

Off the top of my head guess on curtailing overseas sales- complying with EU labeling and environmental regulations probably costs more than the gross profit on the paint.  And they can't write small enough to get all the info required onto a 1/2 oz.....oops, 14.786765 mL.....jar.

I gave up rivet counting when I couldn't see an N scale rivet anymore.

Man, it must be nice to have this kind of time on your hands to start and spread a stupid hoax like this.  I have to wonder, if it is a hoax, why would they pick something as random and remote as a model paint supplier?

What amazes me is how much traction this got on the Internet with nobody having the common sense to contact the freaking company. Even hobby shops are saying that it’s shutting down.
