Peteski:  Choose the wrong shift and I could be in the same situation.  Here in Kentucky, we have 9 hours between sunset and sunrise today, so that wouldn't give me time to get to and from work, with an 8 hour shift.

My shift is 10 hours.

Still working away on the RS-18 conversions with two now in progress.   Quite a challenging project, especially modifying the stock Atlas handrails to fit the new short hood,  but trying to make some progress this week before heading over to Australia for 10 days to warm up.

My shift is 10 hours. 

This sounds so familiar .......  I truly am a morning person, I'm just in the wrong timezone.

The only time I'm a "morning person" is when we go to the Northwest on vacation.  I usually get up about 10:30 ET on work days.  Getting up at 7:30 PT on vacation leaves me on the same schedule!

There aren't many professions with this type of a shift.  Firefighter maybe?  Or some position in the military?

You got it right, I'm a firefighter.

Liek Daniel, I work in emergency management, my day-to-day is more the planning side though. That being said, I'm on 24-7 call for when an event takes place within Oregon and Washington; and on call for response to events around the country, for weeks long, on-site assignments through FEMA. Right now, I am on a reserve call list for the Midwest flooding.

24 hour shifts at my main job. 12 hour shifts at my part time. Any where from 2-12 hours at my part-part time, 2 or 3 hours a month at my part-part-part time. Plus my wife and three kids. I’m fortunate to be able to do most of my modelling at jobs 1 and 2, in the weeee hours.
