Started working on an HO Ford expedition police interceptor. It came painted black and white with a light bar, but the prototype I'm modelling is white and without light bar. Toronto Police Forensic Identification Services vehicle, fleet #FIS10.

Windows and chassis removed:

Time to go to the drunk tank, officer.

Paint stripped

The prototype:

Going to re-paint the inside black. I've also got to find out if the prototype has flashing lights anywhere in it....I'm guessing no, it's not like their "customers" are going anywhere too quickly.

No, some of us work night shift, and our entire lives are shifted to that type of existence. If I have trouble sleeping, it is during the day. :)
I almost added “or you work shifts” to my comment. I’m retired, so I’m up during the day... except for naps.  :D

Not a morning person either.  I work overnight  shift. Unlike you, in the Summer, Sun is  up when I go to work, and when I get back home, and in the Winter, it is dark when I go to work, and dark when I return home.

I'm a morning person, but not until 11:00am...  :D

Down near the shore there are many areas where a single species of grass grows wild . Will this setting be very near a shore ?

Probably yes, hidden in the grille and integrated into the corner lights, if it follows US practice for lower-profile LE vehicles. It's possible they might need to be in a hurry to get to some situations to preserve evidence that could be compromised by conditions not in their control.

Good point - might have an outdoor crime scene and a snowstorm approaching!

Thanks for sharing the video .. some very nice modules there with some nice modeling  .. I'm not a fan of the whimsy stuff, but they do serve a purpose to get the kids looking ..

Great work! Is that Tenement Row — HO or N? I have 3 N kits I haven’t started yet. And may I ask where you got your
trash cans?

Thanks! It's N, and yes, those are the Tenement Row kits. The trash cans are from Model Tech Studios, as well as some of the other "alleyway" clutter. The paper litter is just little bits of cellulose insulation dipped in diluted matte medium and set in-place with tweezers.

To my eye, the most important step many modelers omit from the process is a realistic amount of dirt, junk and refuse lying around the imaginary world we’re trying to create. One of the best fine scale modelers I know gave a clinic at the national narrow gauge convention many years ago discussing the techniques he used in his best of show diorama. He approaches his modeling with an artistic eye. His junk piles were an example. He used a “lazy L” shape, meaning the junk pile was shaped like a “L” lying on it’s side. The taller end against the building with the lower leg trailing away. That simple trick made his junk piles look naturally random. He moved on to modeling fantasy figures shortly after the convention, but I still remember his opening N-scale double hung windows from another scene he did.

Also, used odd numbers of things, not even numbers. Nature tends towards non-symmetry and odd numbered things are easier to make look random and not contrived or man made. Straight lines jump out visually as signs of human intervention. These little tricks help to make models look natural.

Decided to try my hand at wire (rather than etched) hand rails.

Also, started working on a linear power supply for running trains.

Peteski:  Choose the wrong shift and I could be in the same situation.  Here in Kentucky, we have 9 hours between sunset and sunrise today, so that wouldn't give me time to get to and from work, with an 8 hour shift.
