True, but its an F-ing joke that the Santa fe gets absolutely no announcements in regards to steam when UP, SP, NP, PRR, Milwaukee, D&RGW, and even the Clinchfield have one or MULTIPLE well running and detailed models under their belts. For petes sakes, its the Santa fe. the railroad that sold n-scale in the beginning. Hey, it seems odd to me that ATSF steam doesn't get more love too.Hopefully, BLI will continue the pattern and other HO steamers will make it to N:https://www.broadway-limited.com/paragon3atsf4-8-4northern.aspxand maybe the Paragon ATSF 2-10-2/2-10-4.Mark
How difficult would it be to turn one of these into a passable B&O Q4? Start with the USRA Light, I suppose. Get the appropriate Bachmann tender (if it could be found), put on a high headlight. How close would that be? Rick
Oh come on Drasko, just becuase you model ATSF, you think you are entitled to have every third model produced be ATSF prototype? Hey, nobody makes Boston & Maine locos (like the coffin feedwater heater Berks), and you don't see me bitchin' that I get no satisfaction.

Even the PRR modelers could use a few Santa Fe steamers:
The Clinchfield is only on the list because it bought the six ex-D&RGW UP-designed Challengers. The E-3s - in CRR parlance - didn't do that well and only lasted six years.None of Clinchfield's other steamers have been produced in N, although a number would be good candidates. The railroad's dozen Alco E-1 and E-2 4-6-6-4s lasted longer than the E-3s, and were virtually identical to the Delaware & Hudson J-95 class, of which 40 were built. Its 20 L-2 and L-3 2-8-8-2s were based on the standard USRA N&W Y-2 Mallet-based design.Need multiple road names to have a chance of being produced in N. Even then, it's all about luck.Doug
seriously Pete? Don't give me that crap. I seriously hope youre joking when you know damned well that the PRR modelers were 100 times worse when it comes to griping about steam models. hell im just following suit because it seemed to have worked. As for your B&M berk, you could try making one for your scarcely modeled B&M, at least you have a mechanism and 95% of the boiler complete on 3? RTR models of the Berk...……………………………..Drasko
Wow, those B&M berks are one different animal! http://www.llarson.com/steam/schenzinger/images/NA34.jpg
I was half-joking. But seriously, if you think that a single-person loudly bitching on the Railwire about not getting any ATSF love will make a model manufacturer make ATSF engine, I have a bridge in Poland to sell you. As for the B&M Berk, yes, I can cobble one up, but why not bitch loudly to get a ready-to-run model produced? I know, it will never happen.
