4014 in action!

And he's got two full refurbs in the last 5 years. He seems to be a nice guy, saw him yesterday in the crowds with a big smile on his face. Quite the accomplishment this group of guys have done. He's taken a lot of crap (on the internet) from people who love Steve, on the direction the steam program has gone. Watching these guys come through Weber canyon yesterday was quite spectacular.
Here's hoping 3985 gets the same love and that they triple head them.

They'll need to figure out how to replace all the parts that were robbed from the 3985 to get the 4014 running first.

My understanding from posing this question directly to Ed - probably the 1000th time he was asked - now that the 4014 is on the road and they can turn their attention to other things, 3985's missing bits will be replaced after reconditioning or rebuild from what came with 4014. Or it may even include parts "borrowed" from static displays when agreements can be reached.

I have total faith they will figure it out. Even though this is a non revenue venture for UP, they big wigs seem to stand behind it. What other class 1 gets this type of attention and free publicity.

Is that picture from Ted York available somewhere in higher resolution?  There doesn't seem to be any information about this picture on his website.

Please note that I'm not asking for a "free" link, unless Mr. York wants it to be free.  I'm not willing to pay a lot for something I'd primarily use as as screen background, but I'd certainly pay more than nothing.

Marketing. Same drill as your local utilities advertising on TV: generate positive vibe with your affected communities and reap the benefits later when you want to do something that would normally meet resistance. They save millions on lawyers, lobbying and "fix it" PR campaigns.
