ST is going to release 2 new HO and 2 new N scale locos at Amherst and have a contest for someone to get the chance to announce what they are, live at Amherst.

I think the Amherst event is an announcement rather than "release" for the four locos except for one HO. Curious what they're up to. Shane says "our most exciting* new locomotive so far!", but that will be subject to interpretation, of course.

* - I hate the word "exciting" in a corporate or marketing context. Whenever "exciting" was used in a memo, e-mail or presentation by my particular corporate bosses, it was always in announcement of a reorganization or buyout where people were losing their jobs. Every. Single. Time. :x

If that was to apply here, then it would likely mean that Scale Trains would issue a forced recall of their latest N scale model locomotive, without refunding any money. And the modeler would even have to pay postage to ship it back to Scale Trains! :)

I hate the word "exciting" in a corporate or marketing context.

But corporate and marketing contexts are two entirely different beasts. I can understand the dread associated with the former, but the latter is just advertising hype.

If it's a U33B, I'd be satisfied.

If it's Tunnel Motors in N scale I'll be going deep into debt. Same goes for AC4400CWs.
Tier 4 SD70s would also be troublesome to my finances.

I hope it's something I don't need like some obscure transistion era diesel from some minor builder.
