2 years ago my buddy was given both of these locomotives from a local steel mill (plus another S2 for parts). He didn't have a need for the center cab and another museum was going to re-store it. So my buddy made plans to have CSX ship it over. I didn't get up early enough to see the cranes, but they lifted it straight up and backed the flatcar under it.

Trying to use the U.S. Boxcar thread to get back into some modeling...

This week I fixed up my Hydroframe for the Athearn 50' box car including coupler pockets for MTL True Scale couplers.  I now have a generic set of brake equipment drawn that I'll upgrade the NP 52' flat with next.

I was hoping Micro-Trains would have some news over the summer about any new designs for the coupler, but since there weren't any, this will use the same coupler modification as before.

Not just any buddy though. You're talking about a modern legend.

Rick has done amazing things.

I hope that won’t just be hidden under a roof.  Edge of the layout with a back/side wall missing maybe? I’ve been thinking of doing that to expose the interior of a round house.

Here is one from the Cheap Thrills dept. - a moment in time in the Tehachapi mountains:

Never mind the glacier blue foreground, the unfinished/placeholder tunnel 17 portal, and the completely out-of-place backdrop photo.   :P  Just having a little fun trying to visualize things.
