Athearn has pics of their TankTrain cars, it says they're do next month I also checked with them on the Tri-level autoracks and they said to keep an eye out for more announcements.

the utility of the tanktrain concept was/is in running sets of cars together,  but I am sure a single group would move from time to time alone for maintenance, etc....

I went got an A/B end set and one intermediate set for now. It's nice to see some new tank cars.

The two different schemes never ran together... they were different cars... The "Early" scheme spent time in the NE US before going to Alaska and the "Late" scheme was used on the SP/UP Oil Cans.

How anyone can call that EL C-424 "less -than-glamorous" is beyond me!

Yep. They've even pulled their (Horizon Hobby) full MSRP eBay listings.

I'm sure they were inundated with reorder requests from their retailers this morning. Klein had 36pcs of each set when they were listed Saturday, and 6 hours later all of the Late sets were sold out.
