Sometimes progress on my layout is stalled or slowed because there are too many trains in the way of productive labor sitting on the mainline. But they do look good So, in an effort to get organized, I shamelessly copied @Chris333's storage tray idea and built four 12.5 x 24 inch trays that fit in a drawer below the layout. Some 1/4" ply, 1 1/4" pine lattice strips, 3/8" x 7/16" self-stick rubber foam weather seal strips and voila, done. Each tray can hold up to 70 freight cars or 40 passenger cars, four trays per drawer, three drawers available...sweet! Pics below. Thanks Chris!Otto K.

Wolf pour out some details on that concrete mixer truck set. Yes those are intentional puns.
Peter,That's good -- I saw what you did there... LOLHaven't quite got to weathering and detailing my vehicles. Been having to much fun detailing Saticoy. Thanks, for the laugh!!Wolf
So where can the rest of us find similar reinforcements for our fleets of trucks. We need concrete details!
So, trays are nice but what drawers to put them in?Thanks, Joe D
Put some trees up on the HOn30
Doug
Trees are looking good. What did you use for foliage?
I had another opportunity to spend a very pleasant Saturday morning operating on Joel Morse's New York, Ontario and Western set in upstate NY in the fifties. It's amazing how much operation can be packed into a relatively modest space in N scale. We had seven guys busy all doing what we like, two yard masters, a hostler, three crews (could have used another) and dispatcher/great poobah (Joel). Good times.... thanks Joel!Otto K.
