Finished-up this little guy (and 9207) tonight! A bum decoder is keeping 9207 sidelined until I can get to my LHS tomorrow.

Sometimes progress on my layout is stalled or slowed because there are too many trains in the way of productive labor sitting on the mainline. But they do look good :D
So, in an effort to get organized, I shamelessly copied @Chris333's storage tray idea and built four 12.5 x 24 inch trays that fit in a drawer below the layout. Some 1/4" ply, 1 1/4" pine lattice strips, 3/8" x 7/16" self-stick rubber foam weather seal strips and voila, done. Each tray can hold up to 70 freight cars or 40 passenger cars, four trays per drawer, three drawers available...sweet! Pics below.
Thanks Chris!

This week saw the completion of tracklaying into the Northwest Wood Preservers mill at Dawson Creek, including the three turnouts and spurs for chips, lumber and ties:

The chip and lumber tracks are not glued down yet as they extend right to the far corner and I thought they might need to be removed for painting and weathering at a future date.

Shortly after installation, RS-10 No. 584 arrived with a test train of revenue freight cars to try out the new trackage:

My grading crews are now hard at work on the sub-roadbed for the classification yard.

Put some trees up on the HOn30

You can't tell, but the layout is completely vertical while some trees dry againts the left backdrop. The last few days the layout has be propped up in various positions with a fan on it to speed up drying.  :scared:

Wolf pour out some details on that concrete mixer truck set. Yes those are intentional puns.
