It won't be a UP car ,but since Steve was such a UP fan I thought it only fitting that his car be in Armour yellow with red graphics .Planned reporting marks will SVTX.I have not thought of a number yet.I thought the underside could/should be gray and a red stripe on the sill.

I had moved the Station to a corner and planted some trees for a visual block.  And added a new pulpwood yard business.  The business added a couple of crew to the payroll but they were on break for this picture...

Wow some seriously impressive work this week!   Great job guys!

This week I'm in the process of doing something a little different:  trying to replace the LCD display on a Macbook:

The above went well, it's the teardown of the display assembly that is the delicate part, requiring a heat gun to separate the components:

During the layout tour, I did get to visit Dave Trone's West Penn Railroad.  Thing is an amazing piece of work.  Enough lumber in it to build a small house.  But while I was there, watched him switch out a scene on his layout.  When I got there, he had an airfield, with runway, hangers, planes etc.  He replaced it with a sports complex, football field and baseball diamond, players on the fields and bleachers.  When I was a member of a local club, we had 18"x24" liftouts where we could change industries out etc.  This guy changed out a HOLLOW CORE DOOR !!   :o :o  I just laughed when I realized what was happening, mostly because I don't think I'd ever think of such a thing.

I have never seen so many clean K4s in my life.  (Well, actually I never saw a working K4 either (who, among us has), but I have seen lots of photo.


Enjoy them but get them dirty guys .. then they will look real !!

did a little bit more scenery on the team track...I wanted to replicate the overgrown aspect of the team track compared to the mainlines

Now that's funny!  I didn't even think about until seeing that photo. Sort of looks like a puffer fish with chipmunk cheeks!   :-X

I lightly weathered my 1361 since I modeling it in its excursion years. That thing really had a shine to it!  A steam head know what surfaces should have dirt though!
