BLI Watch

The list of items waiting for delivery is getting shorter at BLI.  But there are still three N-Scale items.  A few more road names of AC6000CW's are listed as coming but I see them at MB Klein's site.  Then there is the SD40-2, which actually moved up a month (not sure I believe that) and is now scheduled ahead of the PRR T1.  The cryno car is still gone.

BLI had samples at the NMRA show in KC, but the rep there didn't seem to know or care anything about them...

Glad the T1 is pushed back to October. I've got two dozen covered hoppers from ScaleTrains due this month.

I see the SD40-2s are in stock were I do most of my n-scale shopping, just trying to decide if I need one.

I believe BLI was planning to release their F3's in HO about the same time as the N scale version. The N scale model was released with the reversed sides and inverted chicken wire/solid panel screens, but so far, no word on the HO model. Their website lists them, but no projected date, and notes "images unavailable". Makes me wonder whether the shells are being retooled in HO?.... any word out there?

I talked to Ken at the NMRA convention and he indicated that the shells on the N scale F's would be fixed for the next release.

I hope that they are.

And what about those who got the wrong ones?  An exchange program (free or for small fee)?

Well, it's good to hear they acknowledge there is a problem. I sure hope they will make corrected shells available for some nominal fee. If not I'll be very irritated with them.

For once, i kinda disagree on this. usually i agree. i actually had a very lengthy conversation with ken at the NMRA convention. At first, he wasnt too chatty while i was asking about upcoming steamers until i pulled out a couple of my models that ive built. once he knew i was an actual "modeler", we talked about the state of the hobby, what the next n-scale steamer most likely be, and other stuff.
we had a pretty lengthy n-scale discussion and he was all about me inspecting the mech of that new ugly pennsy steamer he had samples of. i dont think hes a big fan of where the hobby is unfortunately headed in regard to RTR models and people not modeling anymore.
