I was checking out the N scale Vehicles page and scrolled down and seen a company called Jahn that's planning 3d printed autrack loads. This will be interesting.

Thanks for the link those trucks look great . I was originally going to buy a set of the 1960s Atlas pickup trucks and make resin copies for my auto racks , but after seeing these 3D printing I may buy these instead

Jens Jahn in Germany has tons of excellent N scale vehicles in his MADABOUTCARS store on Shapeways.com.

I had a discussion with Jens Jahn at the NSE Convention in Salt Lake City how he could offer a low-cost option for the Athearn Autoracks.

The idea was born to combine 5 vehicles into one print.
After some discussions we landed on 1967 GM Products to match the service dates of the NP autoracks.
Jens provided a few test prints to me so we could test the fit. I had to file the tires a little to fit the lower level, but that is not really noticeable.

After priming and sanding I have painted the cars using 1967 GM Color Charts and added rear view mirrors.

Overall a great way to add a colorful and period-correct load to your Athearn Autoracks

Cheers

The model work is really, really good. I'm not sure how he renders the cars, but every one I've purchased (over 30) appears dead on.

Scaling may be an issue however. I bought two different model years of Suburban and Ecconolines and they measured both different in height and width.

I really have to start painting mine. But they are about 4-5 projects away right now
