Played trumpet in middle and high school, haven't touched it since.  I play a little flute and banjo these days; my go-to banjo is a fretless made by John Peterson.  It sounds amazing.  I have also been known to pick up a mouth harp from time to time, and took bass lessons for a while.

There is a Hoffnung Music Festival record (yes a record  - Angel Records # 35500) recorded at Royal Festival Hall, London that contains a track of Chopin's Mazurka No 49 in A minor (Op 68  No. 2) beautifully performed by a Tuba Quartet.

Perhaps you should try it at the next train show...

I have a steam whistle from a logging loco of some sort, given to me my my ex's uncle.  I managed to get a little sound out of it using a leaf blower (high volume fast moving air).  If you've got one give it a try.

Most logging locomotives did not have really high pressure boilers. It may take a lot of air at 150lbs (which is higher than most small compressors will go), but it shouldn't take much more than that.

Love those hubcaps trapping all the heat from those drum brakes. Love that front bumper, just right for torpedoing/ramming a Bird o' Prey.
