Bill, that's a beautiful model. Is that one of the 1947 dome-parlor-obs cars? I have heard those are almost identical to the one Wabash bought for the Blue Bird in 1949.

Thanks and yes it is. Mike wants to modify the master so we can cast the Blue Bird car as well !

I told Mike that if he built the Dome-Obs, I would build the TCZ Baggage-Bar-Lounge car. Looks like I need to get working on Silver Salon next !

Wow!  That is some seriously good modeling!  Is the resin shell riding on a Kato observation car underframe?

I always have dozens of projects in the works simultaneously, so I always have one to move onto as I am either waiting for additional parts or redesigning something that didn't work out.  This is a GTW 40' automobile boxcar with end doors.  Main construction is done, just have to add ladders, stirrups, roofwalk, and brake hardware on the B-end and underbody.  The core came from a pair of Walthers 50' O/B boxcars, and the sides are rapid-prototype.  The rivets and other detail on the sides are tough to photograph, but they will pop once the car is painted.





I hope to wrap this one up in January, but I have to either etch or mill a brake ratchet.

No modeling for me, but I finally uploaded my video of freights on Horseshoe Curve I took this summer. I was lucky and caught Norfolk Southern's OCS twice, some prebuilt switches on a freight, and the 25th Anniversary of Operation Lifesaver locomotive:

Yours truly may be in for a Wabash version.  Tried bashing one myself- but never have figured out how to get the 4 little windows on the one side.

What did you do for the glass?

Kato glass can be used for the most part though it has to be cut apart and rearranged.
