Ah! such beauty.

Atlantics look like toys even before they are created into models.

and I am amused that this FEF thread has become atlantic land.

I know I have a photo of an e6s some where...

Doesn't every N scale steam loco thread eventually turn into Pennsy whining?
But I would love one of those B&M Atlantics....
(which is even less likely to happen than a PRR version)

I thought we discussed that.

the k4 comes up because they live to hear you groan....

me... I ask for e6s.

I once proved it is possible to work an atlantic into darned near any steam topic.

the groans are what I live for...

I dont have a dog in the K4 thing except that if they do come along then there may be a chance that I could fudge an I3 or I4 out of it. Oh and it would not take much to hack a driver off of a K4 and get a nice Atlantic out of it. But reality is there is no way I am purchasing a new (and probably expensive) to butcher the heck out of it. Hopefully the FEF arrival will drive down the GS4 prices on the bay and I might try and tear one of those up some day. I am getting comfortable with a razor saw....

Question about the red-lens light above the front headlight: Is that some sort of Gyralight device or just a light indicating that the brakes were dumped (a-la the red light on the front of Amtrak F40PH locos)?

It's a Mars Light. I seen it lit when they were in Kansas City a couple years back.
You can see them testing it here:

I have 3.

Congrats. I can sure see why a lot of folks will be adding multiple FEF's to their rosters. Such an impressive looking and running loco.

A real "jewel" to own.

Enjoy those three :D
A "western modeler" that also runs NS.
