Wow, GHB hasn't imported any N Scale brass since the 80's. I wonder what brought this on??

Damn... Why 2014... I have a vacation to the UK to pay for, and possibly a Drivers Experience at the Talyllyn Railway while I am over there. That's 3k right out of the gate.

I wonder if it will run and pull as well as my Kato/GHQ L1.  I wonder why no traction tire?  Guess I'll be using Bullfrog Snot.

Seriously, the K4 crowd needs to buy this (assuming it comes to fruition) to encourage the company to make the K4 next.  Remember that the K4 and L1 were complementary locos...  Many common parts, same boiler diameter, from the same era, etc.  Someone who needs a K4 probably needs an L1.

Wow....  That's news.

This weekend I was sorely tempted with a Key 3160-class brass 2-8-2 in ATSF that I've always admired but have no operating use for; another shelf queen to keep my Hallmark 3751 company.   But it was listed at $225, and at that price, and Spookshows review, my finger was hovering around the 'Bid' button for about a week.

I figured it would go in a last-minute bid frenzy and convince me of my sanity that I couldn't afford such a non-performing luxury.

It went with that one bid of $225.   Huh.   SO... nobody would bid above that?   Really? On a tested and reviewed model that's really pretty darn good?    I wish GHB the best here, hope it is state of the art, I have my GHQ L-1 and it's keeping 3751 company as well.    I sincerely hope there's enough SPF's out there to make a go of this; if it were me I would have gone for the K4 or an H-class before the L1.

No PayPal...

Looks like I'm out.
I don't have a checking account as all the banks around me have excessively high minimum balances.

As is, it is an extreme long shot for me to be able to afford this in the aftermath of a vacation to the UK that I have to work to replenish all that I remove from savings.
Not like I need savings though... My mother will never accept any choice of a car that I make.
