Inching closer to the release of this ubiquitous little beastie:Under macro magnification, it may look a little rough around the edges, but it is kind of small after all; here it is posed on a dime:
Very nice Bill . I have a compulsive desire to always graphite the smoke and fire boxes even though some prototypes didn't have it or are so dirty they don't show through . Your results came out terrific . I need to try to get past that damn graphite bottle , it's like a drug to me .
Resistance is futile...One of us. One of us. One of us.
Dave, I am pretty sure the US gave Grumman the specifications (along with AM general). Grumman bid lower and won the contract, but the design was all the government and not patented. The only real differences I see are near the fender openings, which actually varied on the prototype too. The bumpers are actually split on the prototype. The use one part for all 4 corners: the parts can be swapped and flipped. Man I wish all car parts were that easy. How about the red/blue stripe and signal color decals? No copyright violation there!
Daniel,DS9? Really? Next you'll tell us Voyager is your accompaniment for all your outstanding vehicle builds. Star Trek - Go Spock or go home!
For my first venture into the world of the Weekend Update, here is a recently completed GP9RM. It is a transfer loco that works between the CN yard and the BC Rail/CN interchange yard in Prince George, BC on my in-progress N-Scale Chetwynd Sub layout
...you're also a Trekkie/er?I feel like we're the same person, some times and we don't really know each other.
