There is a follow-up article by the same author that has some brief info on the N&W classes. I have the article, but don't remember where I downloaded it from. Perhaps the same site?

SKM you were right about the location. Here is the link to the article:

http://www.riverraisinmodels.com/libraryData/nwhc1hc2.pdf

and here is the link to the website:

http://www.riverraisinmodels.com/index.html

Hope that helps you all.

Note to FVM... make the tapered box to the left of the inertial intake grill removable/interchangeable with an access hatch... it's not on any SD70M-2.  Theres also a 'wing' on the EMDX/CITX, NS, FEC first order and non-isolated cab CN units ... that's probably not feasibly doable though...

Oh... and the air tanks are installed backward... they go on the other side :P  (Sorry.. got to heckle a little bit )

Speaking of air tanks... it'd be cool if they did both the early band mounted tanks along with these later smooth tanks... I kinda doubt it though (expense vs people who GAS)

Same with NS fans.

That rear end needs the big step added to it... the later phase had a taller grill with the headlight mounted higher... EMD = Every Model Different :P

The ACe's look nice!  Would love to see some later phases made available with PTC equipment on the cab roof:

Maybe a separate part?

Can someone fill me in on the Southern Silversides? What service were they used in?

It'd have been flipping sweet if he'd gone throught the trouble of see-through grills on the rear.  Even if the frame isn't milled, the improvement in appearance is huge.

I guess we know now what the mysterious "-2" project was....  SD70M-2   :D :D :D :D

If they come in CN colors, I'll get every one of them.  Gotta start saving now.

Originally built for unit coal service from Appalachia (Westmoreland transloader... home of the semi-famous yellow-ball 70T hoppers used to transfer coal from various branches to there) to various coal plants

Be sweet to see it on the GEVOs too... all the Heritage GEVOs have PTC.

I suspect that the canstock boxcars and the wagontops are in collaboration with Spring Mills Depot.  The road numbers are the same for all the boxcars.
