That's a more modern style.  A significant number of cabs had Bettendorf-style trucks with leaf springs back in the day.

I'm personally into those can cars too, especially with the American Can Company planned for my future layout.

Curious choice with the Aces considering Kato has the market corner on this with all the UP heritage units and the NS heritage unit around the corner. SD40-2 would have been a better choice..

Now I will admit the M-2 variant is a great choice.  I know most FEC fans will get all four numbers in the original four Alaska RR scheme 100-103, and all three of the cit scheme. Now for most FEC fans the railamerica scheme on 104-107 is kind of a sore subject since the poorly ran FEC until Fortress kick the out so they should do one or two and stay away from 107 with the railamerica on the long hood.
 Those canstock car are cool too specially the CSX ones.

I've built 2 of Bob's H30's and have 2 H30a's to build. They build up into beautiful models. I'm looking forward to the H30a's because they were apparently built with 36" wheels and I may have to make some adjustments to ride height...

The N&W had direct copies of H30s as the HC2 (IIRC) and with a few minor adjustments, the HC1. Fox Valley will almost certainly issue these at some point. YAY!

Man, an H30?  Really?  I've got a couple of traincats waiting to be done, so a rtr is cool and not trying to hate, but I would have liked to seen something else not done, like an H32.

I hacked up an H33 from the Kato 70ton, which turned out to be waay more work than I originally envisioned. Apart from the single H21 that the PRR covered to make the H21d, the other covered hopper I was going to beg Bob to make was the H32... A really unique and interesting car for SPFs.

I don't know if any other railroad used the design though (N&W again?) so the market would be limited, sadly.

The H30 is a PRR car that made it through PC and Conrail before retirement. 

The H30 is also substantially an N&W HC-1:

There was an article in The Sentinal on these cars a couple years ago.  Don't know if I still have it but I'll check.  I seem to remember they loaded can stock somewhere in the Carolinas and shipped to Baltimore.

It is great news. While I was out chatting about I came upon this article via this link. I was just about to make my own patterns and BINGO.
