Phil,

Here it is. But hurry, this is the last one in stock. I'm sure others have it however:

Was going to ask if that was the kit involved. Funny how it looks like dust or pollution control equipment as well as part of a refinery.

All I can say about the quality of the modeling is WOW.

A little rust...

And some weathering for the piles of scrap at the foundry...

...not much for a weekend, but family time is worth a lot as well.

Wow! That's sure convincing weathering! We'll give you the Tom Mann of the Week for that one.

Zoinks! Another local NMRA layout tour tomorrow! Time to clean up all my scenery building junk and get the room looking this clean again. Amazing how I can accumulate so much clutter. No, I will not show you what the room looks like now. I just..., I just can't...

Just for fun, here are a couple videos taken by my friend Pete at the open house yesterday. I say fun, as I always spend my time creating scenery and rarely run trains.

These make me realize how much I need to get things weathered, etc.

Cool videos.  The Taconite one really shows how your scenes are tied together.  And your camera man sure has a steady hand!  I was hoping for a little more WC power on the head end . . . 8)

"Finished" the erosion - preventing rocks near one of the cabins. Again, this is per prototype. Added some weathering. Perhaps I over did it.

Not that you can see it, but I placed some "glass" in these factory windows. It was one of those nagging unfinished projects. Maybe some weathering next. The thing looks like a prison from this angle.

And lastly, I FINALLY painted this river bottom. I'll have to find a way to blend it into the backdrop. Hmm, looks like a warmer weather photo project will be in my future.

Its amazing how much I can not get done in one weekend. Never the less, here are a couple starts:

I am planning another woodsy backdrop behind the foundry. Step one, apply forrest floor...

A coat of paint for the depot roof. Its a bit thin in spots and bright as heck, but with some weathering later...

I managed to finish a bit more painting last night (A whole hour's worth). Yah, I see it. I'll go back and do some retouching later...

I did not want to paint the depot grey. However, it seems that the stone the real one is made from weathers to this grey hue over time. Most photos, and therefore most modelers, tend to model it in this color. The thing is starting to resemble a fire station more than a depot. I can't wait for some weathering. I noticed that the reds seem to come out brighter in these photos than in real life.

Here it is up against the skyboard, where it will eventually dwell...

Depot looking great--- what raw materials did you use for the walls and tile roof?

Need more wide shots showing the whole layout! Very impressive even in a partially-finished state!
